Don Papa 10 rum is aged for 10 years in American oak bourbon barrels. As it ages, American oak bourbon barrels are re-burned, resulting in a darker and stronger premium rum with notes of dried fruit and cocoa.

Don Papa Sherry Cask rum is aged for about 5.5 years in American oak bourbon barrels and in four different types of sherry barrels: Palo Cortado, Fino, Cream, and Pedro Ximenez. This results in an aged premium rum with notes of nuts with a rich, fruity taste and a smooth aftertaste.

It is bottled in limited bottles per year.

The story of Don Papa Rum begins at the foot of the active volcano Mt. Kanlaon, where sugar cane is ground to create a sweet, rich molasses. The Philippines has historically been one of the top ten sugar cane producers in the world! Negros Island, or Sugarlandia, as the locals call it, produces over half of the country’s total sugar production. “Don Papa” is a tribute to Papa Isio, the true and charismatic leader of the Negros, who in the 1890s helped the island and won the island’s independence from the Spanish.
