Don Papa Rum is a high-quality aged rum from the Philippines, where the best sugarcane is ground to produce this sweet premium rum. It is aged for 7 years in 2 types of barrels, in oak American bourbon barrels and in American Rioja barrels creating notes of vanilla, honey and candied fruits.

The story of Don Papa Rum begins at the foot of the active volcano Mt. Kanlaon, where sugar cane is ground to create a sweet, rich molasses. The Philippines has historically been one of the top ten sugar cane producers in the world! Negros Island, or Sugarlandia, as the locals call it, produces over half of the country’s total sugar production. “Don Papa” is a tribute to Papa Isio, the true and charismatic leader of the Negros, who in the 1890s helped the island and won the island’s independence from the Spanish.
